ARE GOLF AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Yes, each day includes either a Golf Day or an Activity Day. Whatever you choose, the price is always the same. We build our own programmes for the arrival and departure day, depending on your flight schedules. The programme content for these days is also included in the price. See the PRICES section for more details.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Flight tickets and dinners are not included in the price.

CAN A BEGINNER PARTICIPATE IN ALL ACTIVITIES?

Golf courses have their own HCP requirements, usually HCP 36. Other activities do not require previous experience. For example, Kloofing is suitable for first-timers and the level of difficulty of the horse riding trips is determined by the least experienced rider in the group.

WHAT IF WE WANT TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM THE ACTIVITIES SUGGESTED ON YOUR WEBSITE?

We have tried to provide a wide range of options for the programme proposals. However, we will hold a planning meeting with the group well in advance of the trip, so that we can adapt the programme to the participants' wishes if necessary.

WHAT IF A GOLF DAY OR ACTIVITY DAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER?

As some days are less weather-sensitive than others, in the event of bad weather, we will try to swap days in order to ensure that the full programme of the trip is completed.

If we have to cancel the golf/activity altogether, we will try to obtain a refund from the third party provider for the cancellation. If such a monetary refund is successful, we will credit the trip participants with an equivalent amount.

If the golf or other activity is cancelled due to bad weather and we are unable to obtain a financial refund from the third party service provider, we regret that we will also be unable to refund our passengers.

DO WE HAVE TO MOVE AS A GROUP ALL THE TIME?

As this is a small group trip, it is natural that we move as a group during the day. Of course, we can split the group into two for the day, for example if some want to play golf and others want to do one of the activities. However, we will agree these things with the group members in advance of the trip so that we have the programme locked in well in advance.

At the end of the golf and activity days, we usually arrive at the house between 16.00 and 17.00, so that everyone can spend the evenings as they wish.

If a participant does not wish to play golf or attend an Activity Day on a particular day, this is of course possible. However, we do not credit this in the price as we sell the whole trip as a package.

HOW DO FLIGHTS GO TO SOUTH AFRICA?

BA, KLM, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Ethiopian Airlines fly to Cape Town. Usually flights leave Helsinki around 6pm, make one stopover and arrive in Cape Town the next day before 12.00pm. The return journey is in reverse order, departing Cape Town usually after 18.00 and landing in Helsinki at midday the following day.

Turkish Airlines is generally good value for money, so we recommend it. Of course, prices vary depending on the time of day, so it's worth comparing flights from different airlines, for example on ebookers.co.uk.

HOW ARE TRANSFERS IN CAPE TOWN HANDLED?

For airport transfers and daily transfers, we primarily use a 9-seater mini buss. In case of a bigger group, we also have a BMW X3 at our disposal.

HOW DO WE GET AROUND IN THE EVENINGS?

Cape Golf Oy will not be involved in the group's evening activities, so any evening transport to, for example, the Cape Town city centre or a restaurant will be arranged by the group. The easiest way to do this is to book an Uber. The nearest shop and restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk from the house and the Camps Bay waterfront boulevard with its restaurants and bars is a 20 minute walk, so there is no need to necessarily use a car in the Camps Bay area.

IS IT SAFE IN CAPE TOWN?

Safety is obviously affected by where you are in the city and by your own behaviour. With normal caution, the areas where tourists usually spend their time in Cape Town are as safe as any major city in the world.

Although Camps Bay is a very quiet part of town, the house is equipped with security cameras and an alarm system linked to a security company, with the nearest guards only minutes away from the house. In the seven years we have had the house, not once have we needed the services of a security company. Each room can also be locked and each room has a safety box.

CAN THERE BE MORE OR LESS PEOPLE IN A GROUP THAN THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE MENTIONED ON THE WEBSITE?

The house has 5 bedrooms, so 10 people is the maximum.

The minimum number of people for a group trip is 6 and the minimum for Pro-Travel is 8. We can reduce these group sizes in special cases, but this must be agreed separately.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE WHOLE ROOM FOR ONE PERSON?

The price of the trip is per person in a double room. If you wish to have the whole room to yourself, we will add 75 euros per night to the price.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN CAPE TOWN?

Cape Town has a "Mediterranean" climate. Cape Town is not usually affected by the painful heat waves of the Mediterranean, as the Atlantic off Cape Town is colder than the Mediterranean. It also has a low humidity rate, so there's no need to fear the oppressive Far East climate. Rainy days are rare in Cape Town, so overall Cape Town's climate is perfect for golf.

Average temperatures, day/night:

October 21/14

November 22/15

December 24/17

January 25/18

February 25/18

March 24/17

WHAT ARE THE VISA AND PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS?

Travellers holding a Finnish passport do not need a visa. However, the passport must have at least six months of validity remaining. Click here for more information.

WHAT VACCINATIONS ARE REQUIRED?

For Cape Town, it is sufficient to have the basic vaccinations for travellers. Cape Town is not a malaria area, so no malaria medication is required. For more information, visit www.rokote.fi.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT CONDITIONS?

The booking fee is €750 and is payable at the time of booking.

Full payment is due 90 days before the trip.

WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION CONDITIONS?

Cape Golf Ltd charges the following cancellation fees:

120 - 90 days prior to departure: booking fee (€750)

90 - 60 days prior to departure: 50% of trip price

< 60 days prior to departure: 100% of trip price

Air tickets: Each passenger books and pays for his/her own air tickets. Cancellation policies vary from airline to airline and from ticket category to ticket category, so it is impossible to give an all-encompassing answer as to how airlines deal with cancellations. As a general rule, airlines do not refund cancellations for cheaper ticket categories, but we recommend that you check your ticket rules when booking your flight.

We also recommend that you check with your own insurance company about their compensation policy for cancellations due to illness, for example.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE?

As is usually the case for long-haul travel, we recommend that clients ensure that they have the most comprehensive travel insurance cover possible.
